I picked this kit up last night from les at burghley homebrew So decided to sterilise the equipment and mix it up this eve, First instruction was to get a fermenter of water to 40degrees then adjust level to 18litres Next was to add everything all at once Brewing sugar Nutrient Yeast Carbon Almost instantly you see the activity start to take place Lid on and sit for 7 days without airlock No mention in instructions of degassing or racking off before clearing so i am gonna go with the instructions and let you know the results as i have a alcohol meter (now in stock at BHB) I'll be back (in seven days) :-)

Cheers kev Im loving the toffee essence at the moment but theres plenty to make a whole selection :-) Today i checked and activity has stopped and it has semi cleared of its own accord , nice one , makes my job of clearing easier , As per the instructions i will not disturb or rack off , no degassing , im just adding turbo klar Lets see how it goes , will put a pic up tomorrow of the liquid before adding clearing

Not done anything yet , i put a airlock in to check if there is any slight activity still and i still get an occasional bubble , so just to be sure i will be leaving it till sunday , and i decided i will rack and degass before adding turboklar , You can see how the carbon has started to settle towards the bottom half
